Design
The Fenix 5 Plus has a rugged yet premium glass fiber reinforced polymer casing with a stainless steel or titanium bezel. This ensures durability under harsh conditions. The 47mm watch case is water resistant to 10 ATM and offers a balanced fit for long-lasting wearing comfort. The QuickFit strap system allows wristbands to be changed quickly.
Screen
The 1.2-inch transflective memory-in-pixel screen remains highly readable in bright sunlight, ideal for outdoor activities. With a resolution of 240 × 240 pixels, data fields are displayed sharply and clearly, while energy consumption remains low. The always-on display and backlight ensure good visibility in both daylight and twilight.
Performance
Powered by Garmin's efficient chipset, the watch effortlessly processes advanced maps, multi-sport tracking and music playback. Built-in topographic maps, full GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) and fast satellite fix ensure accurate positioning while running, cycling and walking.
Battery
In smartwatch mode, the Fenix 5 Plus lasts up to 18 days. GPS mode provides approximately 18 hours of use, while UltraTrac extends tracking time to approximately 42 hours. This efficiency makes the watch suitable for long training sessions and multi-day tours without frequent charging.
Software and Connectivity
The watch runs on Garmin's own operating system with extensive multi-sport functionality, wrist-based heart rate monitoring, performance analysis and colorful TOPO maps. Bluetooth Smart, ANT+ and Wi-Fi enable connection to Garmin Connect, sensors and wireless music transfer. Garmin Pay for contactless payments and storage for approximately 500 numbers increase daily ease of use, while regular firmware updates improve features and stability.
