Design
The Garmin Fenix 6 has a tough and durable design that is suitable for extreme environments. The housing is made of fiber-reinforced polymer with a stainless steel or titanium edge, depending on the version. With a case size of 47 mm and a weight of approximately 80 grams (depending on the version and strap), the watch fits firmly on the wrist. The watch is water resistant to 10 ATM and meets military MIL-STD-810G standards.
Screen
The 1.3-inch transflective Memory-in-Pixel screen remains easy to read in direct sunlight. The 260 x 260 pixel resolution provides clear viewing of maps, graphs and data fields. The screen is not touch sensitive; Operation is via five physical buttons, ideal for use with gloves or under harsh conditions.
Performance
The Fenix 6 offers powerful performance aimed at multi-sport use. It supports advanced training features, VO2 max, dynamic running data, ski maps, golf courses, route planning and turn-by-turn navigation. The built-in GPS supports multiple satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) and sensors such as a barometric altimeter, gyroscope, and compass provide accurate tracking and navigation.
Battery
Battery life is excellent, with up to 14 days in smartwatch mode, 36 hours in GPS mode, and up to 48 days in battery saver mode. In Expedition GPS mode, the watch can last up to 28 days. The power mode is customizable, so that functions are automatically turned off to extend battery life.
Software and Connectivity
The Fenix 6 runs on Garmin's own operating system and works with the Garmin Connect app. Connectivity is available via Bluetooth, ANT+ and Wi-Fi (on select models). The smartwatch shows notifications from your smartphone, offers music controls, has space for music storage (with Fenix 6 Pro and Sapphire), and supports Garmin Pay for contactless payments. Health functions such as heart rate measurement, Pulse Ox (oxygen saturation), stress measurement, Body Battery and sleep monitoring are standard.
