Design
The Apple AirPods 3 feature a revised ergonomic in-ear design with shorter stems and patented contours for optimal wearing comfort without silicone eartips. Each earpiece measures 30.79 x 18.26 x 19.21 mm and weighs 4.28 grams. The MagSafe charging case measures 46,40 x 54,40 x 21.38 mm and weighs 37.91 grams. Both the earphones and the charging case have an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating. Control is via pressure sensors in the stems for media playback and recording calls.

No screen present. The MagSafe charging case features a status LED on the front to display battery and pairing status.
Performance
Powered by the Apple H1 chip in combination with a specially developed high-excursion Apple driver and amplifier with a high dynamic range. The AirPods 3 support Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking and Adaptive EQ, which automatically adjusts the music to the shape of the ear. The system uses dual beamforming microphones and an inward-facing microphone for clear call quality, as well as hands-free voice control via "Hey Siri".
Battery and Ports
The earphones provide up to 6 hours of listening time (up to 5 hours with Spatial Audio enabled) or up to 4 hours of talk time on a single charge. When paired with the MagSafe charging case, total listening time is up to 30 hours or up to 20 hours of talk time. One charge of 5 minutes in the cassette provides approximately 1 hour of listening time or talk time. The charging case can be charged wirelessly via MagSafe chargers, Qi-certified wireless chargers, or wired via the Lightning port on the bottom. Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.0.
