Design
The Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 47mm is a rugged housing built for tough outdoor conditions. The housing consists of a fiber-reinforced polymer housing combined with a stainless steel or titanium back and bezel. The device measures 47 x 47 x 14.5 mm and weighs 70 grams (titanium version) to 78 grams (steel version). The housing features a built-in multi-LED flashlight with variable brightness and a red safety light, and has a water resistance rating of 10 ATM (100 meters). Navigation is via the touchscreen and five physical control buttons.
Screen
The 1.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen provides a clear display with vivid colors and a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels. The screen supports an Always-On mode and guarantees excellent readability in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight. The display is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass or tempered glass, depending on the version.
Performance
Powered by Garmin's latest software platform and equipped with the Elevate Gen 5 optical heart rate sensor for accurate health and sports measurements. The watch features advanced performance features such as Hill Score, Endurance Score, real-time Stamina tracking, jet lag advisor and pre-installed TopoActive maps. The built-in sensors include a 3-axis compass, gyroscope, barometric altimeter and Pulse Ox blood oxygen saturation meter.
Battery and Ports
The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 16 days of battery life in smartwatch mode (up to 6 days with Always-On display) and up to 42 hours in standard GPS mode. Charging is via the proprietary Garmin USB-C charging cable. Wireless connectivity includes Multi-Band / Multi-GNSS GPS with SatIQ technology, Wi-Fi for automatic data sync, Bluetooth, ANT+, NFC for Garmin Pay contactless payments and onboard storage for offline music via services such as Spotify and Deezer.
