Design

Despite the outdated design, the device still looks sleek and feels solid. Available in space gray and silver, without gold option. The design remains recognizable and focused on ease of use, with wide screen edges at the top and bottom.
Screen
The 10.2-inch Retina display delivers a resolution of 2160 x 1620 pixels with a density of 264 ppi. New compared to previous generations is the addition of True Tone technology, which automatically adjusts the color temperature to the ambient light. This makes the screen look more pleasant during long-term use. The display is bright, colorful and supports the first generation Apple Pencil, although it is still not laminated.
Performance
The Apple A13 Bionic chip provides a significant performance boost over previous models. This powerful processor is also found in the iPhone 11 series and offers excellent performance for multitasking, gaming, graphics apps and video editing. With 3GB of RAM, the system is responsive and smooth even under heavier usage. For an entry-level iPad, this is a remarkably powerful configuration.
Battery
The iPad 9 has a battery capacity of 8,557 mAh, good for about 10 hours of use over Wi-Fi. Thanks to the efficient A13 chip, consumption remains low during normal use. Charging is done via the Lightning port with an included 20W USB-C to Lightning adapter, which ensures faster charging times than previous generations.
Software and Connectivity
The iPad 9 was released with iPadOS 15 and supports updates up to iPadOS 17 and beyond. The tablet is well integrated with Apple's ecosystem and supports features such as Split View, Slide Over and Apple Pencil. In terms of connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. GPS is missing in this Wi-Fi version. Touch ID remains in the home button for secure access. The iPad 9 is also compatible with the Smart Keyboard via the Smart Connector.
