Design
The Nothing Phone (2a) retains the brand's iconic and transparent design language, but introduces a unique, centered camera layout internally nicknamed 'the eyes'. The case is made of a high-quality, lightweight polymer with a 90-degree unibody design that flows smoothly around the edges for extra durability. On the rear is a simplified version of the signature Glyph Interface, consisting of three configurable LED strips that function as notification indicators and flash. The device has an IP54 certification for splash and dust resistance.
Screen
The 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display offers a sharp Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels with symmetrical screen edges on all four sides. Thanks to the adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, the panel switches smoothly between different modes to save battery life. The screen supports 10-bit color depth, HDR10+ and reaches an impressive peak brightness of 1300 nits, ensuring excellent outdoor readability. The front is also effectively protected against scratches by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Performance
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, a 4nm chipset coded exclusively in collaboration with Nothing for maximum energy efficiency and smooth performance. In combination with the generous RAM, the system handles everyday productivity tasks, demanding apps and mobile games effortlessly. The generous 256GB of internal storage provides fast read and write speeds, making application loading and media handling extremely smooth.
Battery
With a capacity of 5000 mAh, the Phone (2a) delivers the longest battery life in a Nothing smartphone yet. The energy management has been optimized in such a way that the battery can easily last up to two full days with average use. The device supports 45W fast charging via the USB-C port, which charges the battery to 50% in just 23 minutes and is fully charged in less than an hour. Wireless charging is not supported on this model to keep efficiency and price optimal.
Software and Connectivity
The device runs on Android with Nothing OS, a clean and minimalist interface that is free of unnecessary software (bloatware) and fully personalized with custom widgets, fonts and monochrome icons. The rear camera system features two high-quality 50-megapixel sensors: a primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 114-degree field of view. Connectivity features include full 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and an integrated NFC chip for contactless payments.
